Buy at own risk - NO replacement carafe available. June 19, 2010 J. Patterson 3 months after purchase, the carafe broke. Makes good coffee, but you CANNOT GET A REPLACEMENT anywhere, so buyer beware.
I'm buying another one!! January 25, 2010 Jill Murphy Black (Chattanooga, TN) Overall, I love this coffee pot! Yes, the reservoir opening is tiny and annoying at first, but once you get used to it, it becomes second nature. The PROS definitely outweigh the CONS.
PROS:
12 cup maker with special small pot brew setting for 6 cups or less (which is what I use on a daily basis since I am the only coffee drinker in my house)
sturdy carafe, no problems with leaks
auto shut-off after 2 hours
programmable
interrupt setting allows you to sneak a cup before brewing finishes
coffee stays hot for the full two hours without tasting burned
uses cone filters, not flat bottom (I bought a standard reusable one at my grocery store that works great and eliminates the use of paper for my morning coffee!)
CONS:
small opening for the reservoir
After waffling back and forth about whether to buy this model or a different maker all together, I could not find another coffee maker that had all of these features that FARBERWARE spoiled me with in this coffee maker. So I'm buying another one.
NOTE: The only reason I have to replace it is operator error! I killed it buy running straight vinegar through it to clean it instead of 1 part vinegar: 2 part water mixture, which obviously after it died I looked up the correct mixture to use for cleaning! I had it for well over a year and it made a great cup of Joe consistently!
LEAKS ALL OVER May 5, 2009 S. Phillips (Newhalem, WA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am in the market AGAIN for a new coffee maker, this is my 4th in the last 2 years, this one did great for the first 3 months, now it leaks all over the counter for no apparent reason.
The space for adding water is TINY ! ! !
I make sure and put exactly 12 cups of water in machine, 3 end up all over my counters at 6 am and the rest is in the pot of not overly hot coffee.
Would NOT recommend this maker to anyone, EVER.

Yeah. It's *way* too small. Yeah, I wind up dumping water all over the counter every time. And that is only the beginning.
If you happen to overfill it, there is a nifty little hole in the back of the coffee maker that water gushes out of. Have the towels ready, folks, if you're gonna use this baby. Heck, sponges even.
I'd trade the fancy-schmancy little timer thing for a bigger reservoir any old day...
But that's not all!!...
Sometimes, for no apparent reason, as the coffee is brewing, it leaks out of the thing (I still haven't figured out where, or how). Once the coffee is finished, you have a nice 2/3 full pot of java.
It's such a piece of junk I want my old coffee maker back that I bought at a garage sale for three bucks.
Looking to buy a coffee maker? Look elsewhere.
Average, breaks easily, design flaws January 27, 2009 Amy Davis (St. Paul, MN United States) My sweetie gave me this coffee maker for my birthday. I hope he didn't pay much for it, because after a month it's broken. I put the drip basket in the dishwasher and the auto-pause spring mechanism came apart, with half the pieces disappearing forever down the dishwasher drain. To me, if it's not dishwasher safe it's poorly designed. I agree with previous reviewers that the reservoir opening is poorly located because it's hard to pour into and also because you can't add water later in the cycle. A good thing about this maker is that the temperature seems good, it stays hot but not scalding. Also it looks nice on the counter and is pretty easy to use. Overall I'd say this is an average coffee maker... you can find better.
