Amazon.com Review "Versatile" and "sturdy" aptly describe this well-designed appliance. Once the tank is filled and preheated to brewing temperature (in about 15 minutes), the Pour-Omatic immediately begins brewing coffee whenever more water (2-cup minimum) is added. So you're never more than three minutes away from a fresh cup of coffee. Holds brewed coffee indefinitely at the perfect temperature for drinking, or you can use the preheated water for tea or other beverages. The brewing funnel fits easily into positioning slots that suspend it securely over the 6-cup glass decanter, as does the hot-water funnel. Also included are two large packages of Bunn drip filters, a spring for deliming the drip mechanism, and a clearly written, illustrated instruction booklet to help you get the best performance from this appliance. --Toni Reineke

low quality, over priced coffee maker May 29, 2010 John R. Martin (usa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this coffee maker thinking that this would be an upgrade vs. my cuisanart machine. WRONG.. the first bunn I recieved was defective right out of the box. It would not brew coffee, would not heat the water at all. Amazon sent another right away and this bunn only heated coffee to 160 degrees, much less than the 200 degrees the manual said it would do. If I added a little cream to my coffee it would be cold.
Service from Amazon was terrific, and made a bad experience less of a hassle. I will order again from Amazon.com , but no more BUNN coffee makers.
For quick, always ready to brew coffee - Bunn is the best! March 30, 2010 Cricket (Seattle, Wa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We recently purchased the Bunn A10 Pour-O-Matic Coffee Brewer to replace our BUNN GRXB Original 10-Cup Home Coffee Brewer, Black. When shopping for a new coffee maker there was no question that it would be another Bunn, the question was which one. We decided to go with this one based on the positive reviews, style and pricing.
One thing I would like to point out for others looking to buy is that currently the Product Description is incorrect. This model DOES NOT have a "Brew-Pause" feature, but don't let that dissuade you! The best thing about a Bunn is the speed at which it brews. Because it holds hot water in it's tank, it brews a full pot of coffee in about 3 minutes. This is our reason for buying a Bunn. At our office we go through the first pot of coffee within 5 minutes each morning and to have that second pot available for the latecomers so quickly is perfect.
Brewing is also easy with the Bunn. Add your desired amount of coffee grounds to the filter (we use about 3/4 cup), slide the basket in, make sure the carafe is on the warmer and using the included measuring container, pour the water into the reservoir on top. Just be careful because coffee will being brewing immediately. If you want to keep it hot afterward, just turn on the warmer otherwise it'll be ready in 3 minutes or less.
Another item to note is that I have found Bunn Coffee Filters to be pretty specific in shape and size, so I do buy the ones here on Amazon. They're also a great filler item if you're trying to meet that $25 shipping mark. BUNN BCF100-B 100-Count Basket Filter
This makes great tasting cofffe February 26, 2010 Linda Gail Terrill (Colorado Springs, CO) This is the best coffee maker we've ever used and have used it for 5 years and it's still making great coffee.
Bulletproof and All Business December 15, 2009 Jeff (Long Island, NY) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I recently received delivery on my Bunn Model A-10 coffee brewer. This is the pourover model, not the automatic. I purchased it for my home kitchen.
Out of the box...
Weighing in at 14 pounds, this is no lightweight machine. The unit was delivered directly from Bunn and I found it to be packaged tight with nothing broken. When I placed it on the kitchen counter, all I could think was "this thing is all business". Yes, it is a categorized as a commercial unit, however, it is not industrial looking like the Bunn unit you would see at your local coffee shop. It is civilized and stylish. There are no color choices. Black and high polish steel with an almost chrome appearance, Bunn logo up front. There is a very visible warning label behind the decanter which reveals it's commercial heritage, but it is easily removed if desired. Although the unit is only 6.75 inches wide, it is 13.5 inches deep. This takes up a good 2/3 of a standard countertop depth including room for the cord. It is a very serious piece of hardware and sure to be a topic of conversation when guests arrive.
Set Up...
As the instruction manual warns, you cannot plug the A10 in immediately and start brewing. The internal tank needs to be filled with water prior to powering. This water remains in the unit at all times. The manual calls for 2 full pitchers of water and remainder will run off from the sprayhead. Once plugged in, the vacation switch is powered on. This switch remains on unless you plan to be away for several days or more. Then the warmer switch is turned on which controls only the porcelain warming plate. There is no auto shut-off feature, so you need to shut it off manually. Within 10 minutes the water in the internal tank reaches the proper temperature for brewing which, according to the manual, is approx. 200 F. I have not verified that temperature...yet.
Time to Brew...
Ground coffee is placed in the brew funnel and slid into place. The brew funnel is sturdy plastic, one-piece design, but I believe a stainless steel funnel would have better complemented the overall construction of machine. There is no "start" button or switch. You had better have that decanter in place. Once the water is poured into the screened opening on top of unit, brewing starts immediately as there is already water at 200 F in the brewer. The new water poured into machine is in turn quickly heated in the internal tank. Measurements are somewhat confusing. The clear plastic water pitcher supplied with brewer has graduations measured in 12 ounce increments, total of 48 ounces. The increments on the glass decanter, however, are measured in 2 cup increments, total of 10 cups. I calculated each cup measure to be 5 ounces. Depending on the strength of coffee you prefer, it takes some experimenting to get it just right.
Taste...
Bunn A10 brewer - $230.00. Great tasting coffee - Priceless.
The hefty price tag paid was worth while. Very smooth, rich full bodied taste is achieved with no bitterness, just like my local coffee shop. I believe the secret lies in the five-jet stainless sprayhead which evenly saturates the grinds, proper water temperature and tried/tested design. No disappointments and highly recommended.
great coffee maker, but it will leak eventually November 23, 2009 pmh-chico (Chico, CA) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
and Bunn does not sell the little 50 cent gasket/rubber washer that is the cause of the leaking. Hopefully my local old fashion hardware store will have a gasket that will work. If you buy a Bunn, it will leak, the question is when. It is still a great coffee maker, and I guess by not making the parts available they sell more units. My current (and now leaking) coffe pot is about 7 years old so that's pretty good, but is sure seeems a waste to have to replace it for lack of a little rubber washer.
