Amazon.com Review Lots of folks dislike the burnt flavor that coffee gets when it sits in a glass pot over a heating element. To avoid this, coffee shops often brew right into large thermal pots to keep the coffee warm without it becoming overcooked. The Zojirushi Fresh Brew does that, too, but in home-sized batches. It looks great, too, with a glossy black body and stainless steel carafe and brew basket. To brew, lift the lid and swing the water outlet spout to one side while the filter is being loaded; the spout will return to its proper position when the lid is closed. A small red ball in the water gauge makes it extra simple to read. And an electronic clock module also serves as a timer that will start the brewer at a specified time. The carafe's lid is designed to be on during brewing, with a small cap to help keep the heat in after it's ready. The Fresh Brew also has a pause-and-serve function that stops the flow for 30 seconds while a cup of coffee is served. To clean the brewer unit, use a solution of white vinegar and water, following the instructions in the accompanying booklet. The unit is not immersible. The exterior can be wiped with a damp soft rag; do not use abrasives or scouring pads. The filter reservoir is removable; clean with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. The coffee brewer measures 15 by 12 by 9 inches (includes carafe handle when unit is completely assembled), and it uses #4 cone-shaped disposable paper filters. The Fresh Brew comes with a detailed instruction booklet. Zojirushi guarantees its products with a one-year limited warranty. --Garland Withers
Product Description Yes, it will have a steaming hot pot of coffee ready and waiting when you wake up, and the insulated stainless steel carafe will keep it hot for a long time. You can also grab a cup during the brew process if you like. Easy to operate and easy on the eye, this might just be the coffeemaker you've been waiting for.

Wouldn't buy one again September 6, 2010 disappointed We have had this coffee maker for 6 months now and I get to like it less and less each day. I like my coffee HOT and this does not do the job. Even if I preheat the carafe and use a tea cozy, after an hour I am having to "nuke" it to bring it up to the temperature that I like. The size 4 paper coffee filters do not fit well, you must jam them in or cut them down. Placement of the controls around the side of the coffee maker is a disadvantage as you either have to fumble without seeing the controls or move the coffee maker to see the controls. Not a big deal the first time but every day? Wish we had spent the extra money and got a new Starbucks to replace our old one.
Zojirushi EC-BD15BA Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker September 5, 2010 J. Haynes (San Jose, CA United States) This coffee maker was a big disappointment from the get-go. The carafe is so thin that it holds the heat for about 3 minutes tops. There is no heating plate so one must rely on the carafe to keep the coffee warm which it doesn't. For the price paid this product is really a rip off and the manufacturer should be ashamed. I used this machine for two days before my wife went down to Sears and bought a Mr. Coffee for half the price. It has a glass carafe but we just poor coffee into the old carafe from our old coffee maker which we wore out. I highly recommend this coffee maker be purchased for use as an ornamental display object only. It looks good but the practical functionality ends there.
A great disappointment September 5, 2010 Arthur J. Miller (Baltimore, MD USA) This product was a great disappointment. The first thing is that the #4 filter does not fit in the container. Then it does not keep the coffee hot. As soon as the coffee is poured into a mug it gets cool, and the thermos does not hold heat. I would not advise anyone to buy this item.
poor quality September 4, 2010 Aussie girl (NC) Coffee maker leaks all the time, flooding out kitchen floor. No matter how carefully we align the carafe, there is coffee all over the kitchen counter...
The perfect coffemaker September 3, 2010 sudburymom (New England) After suffering with an overflowing, frustrating Cuisinart for far too long, we finally got this coffeemaker. It is perfect. Makes great, hot coffee. Easy to use and clean. Does not overflow and is quiet. Reasonably priced. Overall, excellent.
